Finding Providers using the MedicalQuest WEB Site

Highlights

• The MEDICALQUEST web site has been established as a service to the provider community. It is available as a reference for providers to use as often as they like.
• Many providers use the MEDICALQUEST site to identify potential referring physicians for their patients. The site is unique because it relates provides to both their health plan affiliation and their hospital privileges.

The Case

Mrs. Brock needs to find a Family Practice Physician in Lafayette, CO who has hospital privileges at Boulder Community hospital and accepts CIGNA Health Plan HMO.

Step 1. Getting on the MEDICALQUEST Web Site

Open your internet browser and go to WWW.MEDICALQUEST.COM

you will immediately see a form that accepts selection for a query (Figure 1).

Enter the required selections from the drop down tools. Be sure to use the tools and do not type in your entry. The queries require exact spelling.

• City = ‘Lafayette’
• Hospital = ‘Boulder Community Hispital’
• Plan = ‘CIGNA Health plans of Colorado’
• Specialty = ‘Family Practice’

Use the “Start Search’ button to initiate a search for providers meeting your search criteria.

Step 2 View All Information about the provider

Choose to view more information by clicking on any of the providers listed (Figure 3).

Your search criteria are highlighted in bold. Use your browsers “Back Button” to review the details of another provider.

Step 3. Map the location and/or print directions.

Use the “map it” button to show a map to the provider location (Figure 4).
